Standoff at Israeli-Lebanese Border
The standoff along the Israeli-Lebanese border has continued to intensify over the last 48 hours. Troops in the Lebanese army fired at an Israeli Air Force (IAF) reconnaissance drone yesterday, and all leaves have been cancelled for Israeli military personnel assigned to the Northern frontier.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military revealed today the identities of several senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard officers working in Lebanon with Hezbollah to develop precision-guided munitions. Hezbollah has been designated a terrorist organization by the US State Dept, the European Union and the Arab League. The addition of precision guidance technology to an arsenal of an estimated 100,000 Hezbollah rockets would dramatically increase the threat posed to Israeli civilians in the event of another Israeli-Lebanese war.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Hezbollah and Iran to "watch out," sending a strong signal that Israel will not allow the development of existential threats so close to its border. Armed conflict may be imminent, and we would ask our prayer partners to like and share this post before joining us in interceding for the peace of Israel and her neighbors, the continued uncovering of deception and subterfuge, and divine restraint of bloodthirsty men.
Shalom from Israel.
